Karnataka Teams Up with British Council for New Skilling Programmes

The Karnataka government, in collaboration with the British Council, unveiled four new skilling programmes on Tuesday aimed at fostering educational opportunities and cultural exchange. This initiative follows an MoU signed on February 26 between the British Council and the Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC).
Among the newly launched programmes are the 'Scholars for Outstanding Undergraduate Talent' (SCOUT), 'English Skills for Youth', Capacity Building Training for International Officers, and a Freemium Digital Library Wall at Bengaluru University. These initiatives target government engineering colleges and universities in Karnataka, aiming to provide students and faculty with valuable resources and immersive learning experiences.
Higher Education Minister M C Sudhakar emphasized that collaboration with UK institutions is pivotal for innovation and talent development in Karnataka. Alison Barrett, Director-India at the British Council, reiterated the commitment to improving employability and educational opportunities through these collaborative efforts.
