The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has embarked on a transformative journey, investing an estimated Rs 200 crore in infrastructure development to enhance its academic and training framework, according to government sources.
In a strategic move, the IIMC introduced two new MA programs in Media Business Studies and Strategic Communication this August, with an initial batch of 80 students, informed Nimish Rustagi, the institute's registrar.
The institution, now a 'Deemed University', is significantly upgrading its infrastructure, including a new campus in Amravati, Maharashtra. This modernization spans advanced audio-visual setups at all campuses and the establishment of MoJo studios, enriched libraries, and high-end computer labs, Rustagi added.
The inception of incubation centers in Delhi and Kottayam underscores IIMC's commitment to fostering entrepreneurial culture. Additionally, its IDEATHON initiative aims to promote student-led startups, offering the best projects mentorship from industry experts, Rustagi highlighted.
The IIMC's main campus is located in the national capital, complemented by regional campuses across Aizawl, Amravati, Dhenkanal, Jammu, and Kottayam.
