Arunachal Initiative to Boost Tribal Socio-Economic Status
The Papum Pare district in Arunachal Pradesh has selected 14 villages for the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) to uplift the socio-economic conditions of tribal people. The program aims to improve infrastructure, health, education, and economic opportunities for 2,510 tribal households as per the 2011 census.

The Papum Pare district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has identified 14 villages under the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) with the goal of improving the socio-economic condition of tribal people, officials announced.
According to spokespersons, the PMJUGA aims to enhance the lives of 2,510 tribal households, based on the 2011 census, by developing essential infrastructure. This includes constructing pucca houses, enhancing road and digital connectivity, and improving health, nutrition, and educational facilities.
In addition to infrastructure development, the program seeks to economically empower these communities through skill development, sustainable agriculture on forest lands, promotion of tribal products, and financial support for tourism through home stays. Funding for the initiative is sourced from the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes (DAPST), the officials added.
