Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamshedpur on Sunday to inaugurate several significant projects, including the flagging off of Vande Bharat express trains.
Chouhan, who is also the BJP election in-charge for the upcoming Jharkhand assembly polls, revealed that the Centre has approved 1,13,400 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for the state's residents living in 'kutcha' (temporary) houses.
Speaking to reporters at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport, the Union Agriculture Minister indicated that the Centre has already allocated its share of funds for these houses. However, only 20,000 approval letters have been issued by the state government so far. He emphasized that the state needs to complete the necessary formalities to ensure timely construction. For households with completed paperwork, PM Modi will release the first instalment of funds with a single click during his visit.
Chouhan stressed that Union Rural Development Department officials have been working diligently with state counterparts to expedite the process. He assured that efforts will continue to provide permanent housing for every poor family.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will flag off Vande Bharat express trains to various destinations across the country and address a massive rally organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jamshedpur.
