This high-profile meeting occurred just days after former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren resigned from the JMM and joined the BJP, citing grievances with the party's current policies and alleged 'bitter humiliation'.

Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal and Soren's wife Kalpana Soren were also in attendance.
