In a significant political move, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren met with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. The leaders expressed confidence that the INDIA bloc will secure a 'massive majority' in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
This high-profile meeting occurred just days after former Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren resigned from the JMM and joined the BJP, citing grievances with the party's current policies and alleged 'bitter humiliation'.
While the meeting was officially termed a courtesy call, insiders reveal that election strategies were a key topic of discussion. Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal and Soren's wife Kalpana Soren were also in attendance. Both Kharge and Gandhi reiterated their commitment to social justice and economic upliftment for all sections of society in Jharkhand.
