Japanese Student Stabbed Near School in China Amid Rising Tensions
A 10-year-old Japanese student was stabbed near their school in Shenzhen, China. The incident marks the second recent attack involving Japanese educational facilities in China. The assailant, a 44-year-old man, was arrested. The event coincides with the 93rd anniversary of the Mukden Incident.
A Japanese student was stabbed and wounded near a school in Shenzhen, south China, on Wednesday, according to China's foreign ministry. This is the second such attack on Japanese educational facilities in recent months.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reported that the 10-year-old student was attacked by a man approximately 200 metres from the school gate. The student was immediately hospitalized, and the assailant was apprehended on the scene.
A police statement identified the suspect as Zhong, aged 44, and confirmed the attack took place around 8 a.m. Although the victim's nationality was not disclosed, the case remains under investigation. Lin assured that China would continue to implement security measures for all foreigners.
