Pope Francis has called on Singaporean youth to engage in inter-religious dialogue with courage and open-mindedness during a visit to Catholic Junior College (CJC) on Friday. This visit marks the final leg of his four-nation Asian tour.
Addressing over 600 participants, including students and members of interfaith organizations, the Pope emphasized the importance of being both critical and respectful of different faiths. 'Do you have the courage to criticize while allowing yourself to be criticized?' he asked, challenging the young audience to foster constructive interactions.
Highlighting the broader implications, Pope Francis noted that such dialogues among young people can pave the way for greater societal harmony. Urging the youths to be courageous and step out of their comfort zones, he humorously remarked, 'Don't let your stomach get fat, but let your head get fat,' encouraging them to take risks and engage in meaningful conversations on inter-religious unity.
