Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated directorial debut, 'Emergency,' has been postponed. The announcement came on Friday amidst delays in certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Originally set to release this Friday, the political period drama—written, directed, and co-produced by Ranaut—has not yet received clearance from the CBFC. The matter remains in court, complicating the film's release schedule.

Ranaut, who stars as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, openly criticized the CBFC for delaying the certification. Additionally, the film faces backlash from Sikh organizations for alleged misrepresentation, further stalling its release. 'Emergency' is produced by Zee Entertainment Enterprises and features a star-studded cast, including Anupam Kher and Milind Soman.
