Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pushes Reforms Amid Accusations and Celebrates Cultural Heritage

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh announced reforms for economic self-reliance, denied financial crises, and accused the BJP of misinformation. On Sunday, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu firmly denied any financial mess in Himachal Pradesh, asserting the state's stride towards economic self-reliance by 2027 and prosperity by 2032. He acknowledged temporary reform-related disruptions but assured there is no financial crisis with employees and pensioners receiving their dues.

In a media briefing, Sukhu accused the BJP of circulating falsehoods regarding financial crises, spying allegations, and irregularities in liquor vend auctions. He criticized the previous government for irrational subsidies in health and education sectors, urging responsible subsidies for those who can afford utility bills. Sukhu also detailed financial demands from the central government, emphasizing welfare initiatives for various societal sections.

Meanwhile, Sukhu inaugurated the 'Master's Universe' exhibition in Shimla, honoring Nicholas Roerich's legacy. Organized by the International Centre of the Roerichs and local cultural departments, the exhibition marks Roerich's contributions to cultural heritage and peace. The Chief Minister recognized Roerich's impact on promoting Himalayan culture and his global influence through the 'Roerich Pact.'
