Azerbaijan is experiencing a notable surge in tourist footfall from India, with projections reaching 250,000 visitors this year, according to Azerbaijan Tourism Board CEO Florian Sengstschmid.
This substantial increase is attributed to improved connectivity and the ease of obtaining visas. From January to July, the number of Indian visitors has surged by 31% compared to the same period last year.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board aims to further enhance flight connections from major Indian cities and is focusing on attracting corporate, FIT, and solo travelers, particularly women, who find Azerbaijan a safe destination. Efforts are underway to connect more Indian cities like Chennai and Bengaluru with Baku to bolster tourism further.
