The Kerala government has announced its ambitious plans to host 2.2 crore domestic and 8 lakh international travelers this financial year. Highlighting the focus areas, Kerala Tourism Secretary Biju K mentioned Heli tourism, Caravan tourism, Cruise tourism, Biodiversity Circuit, Malabar Literary circuit, and Medi Tourism.

Last year's record influx saw 2.1 crore domestic and 6.49 lakh international tourists. The state is optimistic about surpassing these figures to reach pre-pandemic levels by 2026. Regent tourism spots won't be limited to just beaches and hill stations but will explore diverse experiences to transform Kerala into an all-weather destination, according to Tourism Minister PA Mohamed Riyas.

The state's allocation of Rs 351 crore towards tourism infrastructure, alongside campaigns for better waste management and safety audits for solo women travelers, underscores its commitment. Despite some cancellations due to the Wayanad landslide, intensified promotional efforts aim to mitigate major impacts on tourism.
