Emilia Clarke, famed for her role in 'Game of Thrones,' is set to headline and executive produce 'Ponies,' a spy thriller series coming to streaming platform Peacock.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series is set in Cold War-era Moscow in 1977.

'Ponies,' produced by Universal Television, features Susanna Fogel of 'The Flight Attendant' and David Iserson of 'Mr Robot' as co-creators.

The storyline follows two women, dubbed 'PONIES' (persons of no interest), who work anonymously as secretaries at the American embassy. Their lives take a drastic turn when their husbands die under mysterious circumstances in the USSR, leading them to become CIA operatives.

Clarke will portray Bea, an overeducated, Russian-speaking child of Soviet immigrants.

Fogel and Iserson are collaborating on the script, with Fogel directing and Iserson serving as showrunner. Both are also executive producers alongside Jessica Rhoades via her Pacesetter Productions. Katherine Bridle and Pacesetter's Alison Mo Massey are listed as co-executive producers.

Clarke is also currently filming 'Criminal,' another web series for Prime Video.
