A tragic incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind district where a farmer and two State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) members drowned during a rescue operation, as per local police reports.

On Wednesday evening, a cow got trapped in the sluice gates of a dam on the Kunwari river. The cow's owner, Vijay Singh, and his cousin, Dinesh Bhadoria, leaped into the water in an attempt to save it. However, strong currents led to Dinesh's disappearance and Vijay's eventual death, explained Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav.

Subsequently, villagers alerted authorities after spotting Dinesh in bushes mid-river. An SDERF team sent for the rescue faced a dire situation when their boat capsized, resulting in the drowning of members Praveen Kushwaha and Hardas Chauhan. Efforts to find the missing personnel were suspended overnight and resumed successfully the following morning when their bodies were found.
