In a groundbreaking move, Lord's will host its inaugural women's Test match between India and England in 2026, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday. This landmark event will take place following a three-match ODI series scheduled for July 2025.
ECB CEO Richard Gould expressed his excitement, stating, "I'm also delighted we can confirm that India Women will return in 2026 to take on England Women in the first-ever women's Test match at Lord's. It will be a truly special occasion, and one of real significance."
The series will feature three ODIs on September 2, 4, and 7 at Headingley, Lord's, and Southampton. This match will mark a historic moment as it will be the first time the iconic Lord's ground hosts a women's Test match. Since 1986, India and England have played nine Test matches against each other in England, with their last encounter ending in a draw at Bristol in June 2021.
