Suspicious Death of 18-year-old Coaching Student in Kota Hostel

An 18-year-old coaching student named Kushagra Rastogi was found dead in a suspicious condition in a hostel bathroom in Kota. Despite collecting evidence, the police did not file an FIR as requested by Rastogi's parents, who also declined a postmortem. His body was handed over for last rites.

An 18-year-old coaching student was found dead in a suspicious condition in the bathroom of his hostel room in Kota, police reported on Tuesday.

A police team arrived at the scene after being informed by the hostel's caretaker and collected evidence. However, they did not register an FIR at the request of the teenager's parents.

The parents refused to conduct a postmortem, and the body was subsequently handed over to them for last rites. The deceased has been identified as Kushagra Rastogi, a resident of Prayagraj, who was staying with his mother in the Jawahar Nagar hostel.

Rastogi, enrolled in a coaching institute in Kota for engineering preparation, went to the bathroom on Monday morning but failed to come out. His mother discovered him unconscious after 20 minutes and he was declared dead at the hospital, despite CPR efforts.
