Police resorted to cane-charging to control the mob, which included many angry parents. This escalated further as protesters pelted stones at the police. In response, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced a special investigation team, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured fast-track hearings.

Several school and police personnel were suspended, including the principal, a class teacher, and a female attendant, along with three police officials for alleged dereliction of duty. The government has urged increased vigilance and the formation of 'Vishakha committees' in schools to address grievances.
