Quick commerce platforms enjoyed a surge in demand during Rakshabandhan, with customers gravitating towards convenience and speed over traditional postal services.

Blinkit, capturing about 40% of the quick commerce market, reported selling approximately 700 rakhis per minute. CEO and Co-Founder Albinder Dhindsa shared this milestone on X, celebrating the platform's record-breaking orders per minute (OPM) and gross merchandise value (GMV).

Zomato-owned Blinkit extended its reach internationally, allowing customers in six countries, including the USA and Germany, to send Rakhis and gifts to India.

Meanwhile, Zepto, fresh off a $665 million funding round, introduced 'Lifafas' with prize giveaways, crossing one million in sales. Co-Founder Aadit Palicha noted the all-time high in orders and first-time buyers.

Swiggy's Instamart also joined the festive rush, doubling its Rakhi sales compared to last year, with perfumes becoming a popular gift choice.
