Bengali Film Industry Rallies for Justice in Post-Graduate Doctor's Tragic Death

Bengal's film industry gathered in large numbers to protest the brutal rape and murder of a post-graduate trainee doctor at RG Kar hospital. With prominent directors and actors leading the charge, the rally demanded justice and highlighted the industry's collective resolve against such heinous crimes.

The Bengali film industry's luminaries, including actors, directors, and technicians, organized a rally in Kolkata on Sunday to protest the rape-murder of a post-graduate trainee doctor at the state-run RG Kar hospital.

Renowned directors Kaushik Ganguly, Shibo Prasad Mukhopadhyay, and Arjun Datta, alongside actors Paoli Dam and Ankush Hazra, led a group of around 200 industry members in a one-kilometer march. They chanted slogans demanding justice for the victim, showcasing the industry's unified stand.

Paoli Dam expressed her reasons for joining the rally, emphasizing the urgent need for action following the brutal killing. The procession began at the Technicians' Studio in Tollygunge, moved by bus to Khanna crossing in north Kolkata, and resumed on foot to Shyambazar Metro Station.
