Raipur to Establish Park for Persons with Disabilities: Union Minister

Union Minister Virendra Kumar announced the creation of a park for persons with disabilities in Raipur during the 17th 'Divya Kala Mela'. The event celebrates the talent and entrepreneurship of disabled artisans, with a focus on empowerment. Various schemes and initiatives were highlighted to support 'atmanirbhar' (self-reliant) India.

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar announced on Saturday that a park dedicated to persons with disabilities will be established in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

This announcement was made during the inaugural ceremony of the 17th 'Divya Kala Mela' at the BTI ground. The event is focused on empowering artisans and entrepreneurs with disabilities while showcasing their talent and creativity. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant India can only be realized when persons with disabilities become empowered, Kumar emphasized.

The week-long 'Divya Kala Mela' celebrates the skills and entrepreneurship of over 100 divyang artisans, artists, and entrepreneurs from around 20 states and union territories. The fair also includes 'Divya Kala Shakti' job fairs and a Loan Mela to provide financial assistance, furthering the participants' businesses.
