Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the BJP's membership drive, taking a swipe at opposition parties for lacking internal democracy.

He highlighted that the drive, aimed at renewing existing memberships and inducting new members, will support the implementation of 33% reservation for women in assemblies and the Lok Sabha.

BJP president J P Nadda marked the start by enrolling Modi as the first member. Modi urged BJP members to attract the new generation, particularly the 18-25 age group, and likened the drive to a familial welcoming, stressing its ideological and emotional significance over mere numbers.
