Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has revealed that the coastal state will become the permanent venue for the annual India Energy Week (IEW). Addressing the state on the 78th Independence Day, Sawant shared that the Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) has chosen Goa for the event.

Sawant highlighted his administration's commitment to fostering a sustainable future through green and blue economy initiatives. 'Green economy' aims at reducing environmental risks, while the 'blue economy' focuses on leveraging the ocean's economic activities.

The IEW, previously held in Betul, South Goa, is India's largest comprehensive energy exhibition and conference. Its permanent hosting in Goa is expected to bolster the state's economy. Sawant also emphasized infrastructure improvements and community farming to enhance land use.
