A bank employee on a Sunday picnic in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh, was swept away by river currents; he remains missing while two colleagues swam to safety, an official reported.
The incident occurred near Bakur village, about 60 km from Betul headquarters, where nine bank employees were enjoying a picnic. Area Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Roshan Jain confirmed the details to PTI.
Three employees were crossing a culvert when the water level suddenly rose. Two swam to safety, but Rishabh Waghmare was swept away. Divers have searched extensively but have not located him, said the SDOP.
