Olympic Flag Arrives in Los Angeles Amidst Star-Studded Ceremony

The Olympic flag touched down in Los Angeles on Monday as preparations for the 2028 Summer Games ramp up. The flag, which arrived on a Delta Airlines jet adorned with 'LA28' and palm trees, was greeted with Tupac Shakur's 'California Love' booming across the tarmac.

Mayor Karen Bass, sporting a red Team USA tracksuit, descended the airstairs waving the flag, joined by Governor Gavin Newsom and notable athletes such as Olympic diver Delaney Schnell and skateboarder Tate Carew. Bass expressed immense pride and responsibility in receiving the flag.

LA was awarded hosting rights in 2017 and it marks the third time the city will host the Games, following 1932 and 1984. Bass acknowledged challenges like homelessness but emphasized LA's unique Hollywood appeal. As part of the handover in Paris, Tom Cruise added a touch of Hollywood glamour, performing stunts and skydiving to the Hollywood sign.
