Junior doctors across various hospitals in West Bengal held protest sit-ins and processions, calling for strict punishment for those involved in the sexual assault and murder of a woman postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conducted an aerial survey of Wayanad in Kerala, where landslides have led to the loss of hundreds of lives. The central government has deployed more than 1,200 personnel from various forces for rescue and relief operations.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, recently released from jail, called upon party workers and citizens to stand against what he described as 'dictatorship' in the country. Sisodia's remarks come in the wake of his bail in the Delhi excise policy case.
