Kleo Season 2 reportedly begins filming soon! Know all updates

When it's time to watch a foreign action thriller series on Netflix, consider Kleo, a German drama that tracks the quest for vengeance of Kleo Straub (Jella Haase), a former East German Stasi assassin, after her capture and subsequent imprisonment until the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Kleo first premiered on Netflix on 19 August 2022 and received positive reviews from critics. On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 10 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.3/10. The series is renewed for a second season on September 2022. At the time of renewal, Netflix VP of German Original Series Katja Hofem told Deadline that the show is intended to be a multi-seasonal show. The renewal news was shared by the series star Jella Haase and Dimitrij Schaad on Instagram.

The release date for Kleo Season 2 is yet to be announced. Before diving into these details let’s know what this German series is about. Here’s the synopsis of Kleo.
“1987: Shortly after liquidating a businessman in West Berlin on behalf of a secret Stasi commando, top East German spy Kleo is arrested, denounced by the Stasi and even betrayed by her own grandfather. After two years in prison, the Berlin Wall suddenly falls and Kleo is released. But she soon realizes that the conspiracy against her is much more complicated than she thought, and that an ominous red suitcase is the key to it all.”
“Kleo thus embarks on a revenge spree that leads her through the anarchic Berlin, improvised electro clubs and Mallorcan fincas all the way to Chile’s Atacama Desert – with the West Berlin policeman Sven constantly on her tail, chasing the case of a lifetime.”
Kleo Season 2 will follow former Stasi assassin Kleo Straub (Jella Haase) on her mission for revenge. Of course, Dimitrij Schaad will chase her as Sven Petzold, an underachieving West Berlin police officer. The other cast members such as Julius Feldmeier, Vincent Redetzki, Vladimir Burlakov may also return in Kleo Season 2.
Hanno Hackfort, Richard Kropf and Bob Konrad – will be at the helm as showrunners, while Michael Souvignier, Till Derenbach and Jörg Engels from Zeitsprung Pictures, will be responsible for production.
Not only the release date but Netflix hasn’t announced whether Kleo Season 2 is in the works. Reportedly, the filming is about to commence at some point in 2023. So if the filming begins within one or two months, we could guess filming plus editing could take around nine months. As a result, we would take an educated guess that Kleo Season 2 is aiming for a release window of 2024. If the production takes a short period, then there’s a chance to get an end-2023 release date.
