The University of Southampton has set a landmark precedent by establishing the first foreign offshore campus in India under the National Education Policy (NEP), the Centre announced on Thursday.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar handed over a Letter of Intent (LoI) to university representatives, marking the official commencement of this ambitious educational initiative.
The Delhi-NCR campus will offer programs mirroring the academic and quality standards of its UK counterpart, focusing on subjects like business, law, and biosciences. Starting in July 2025, the campus aims to foster international collaboration and global standards in Indian higher education.
