More than 46,000 students have secured their places in Delhi University's undergraduate courses in the first round of admissions, according to an official statement on Tuesday.

For the upcoming academic year of 2024-25, undergraduate classes will start on August 29.

Around 11,224 students have ''freezed'' their chosen courses and colleges, indicating a delay in finalizing decisions, while 27,613 students have opted for an upgrade to change their initially allotted preferences.

Out of 97,387 offers extended, a total of 83,678 students accepted the combinations offered by DU. As of Tuesday, 46,171 students confirmed their admissions by paying the required fees. The deadline for payment is August 21.

On August 22, DU will publish a list of vacant seats for the next round. The second phase of the Common Seat Allotment System (CSAS) will follow, allowing students to re-order their preferences. The window for changes opens at 5 pm on August 22 and closes at 4.59 pm on August 23. The final date for payment and securings admissions in this round is August 30.
