In a recent development, Delhi University has granted permission for hiring guest faculty in 12 government-funded colleges. This move aims to mitigate the delays in appointing permanent teaching staff.
In a directive issued on August 13, the University outlined that previous restrictions on appointing guest faculty will not apply to these colleges. The decision is taken to serve the larger interest of students and ensure educational continuity.
Earlier, on August 8, a directive had restricted guest faculty appointments to instances where permanent staff were on various types of leave. The new exception aims to address the staffing shortages promptly.
