Primary School Teachers Stage Fast Unto Death Near Raj Bhavan

The protest saw a large turnout under the banner of the Akhil Jharkhand Prathamik Sikshak Sangh (AJPSS), with members raising slogans against the state government.

AJPSS president Anup Kesari highlighted that while other state employees benefit from MACP, teachers are left out. Additionally, the teachers are advocating for the option to transfer to their home districts.

AJPSS spokesperson Nasim Ahmad mentioned that around 45,000 primary and middle school teachers are employed by the state and participation in the protest would occur in phases according to assigned dates.
