The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) team will present two key demands in the upcoming negotiations with the government this week, as reported by Dawn. The National Assembly Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, is slated to oversee this in-camera meeting at the Parliament House on January 2.

The PTI's initial demands reportedly focus on the release of political detainees and the formation of a judicial commission to probe incidents from May 9 and November 26, 2023. PTI leaders have expressed dissatisfaction with government ministers' statements and called for a conducive environment for discussions.

Sources within PTI have indicated plans to submit their demands in writing in hopes of fostering trust before further negotiations. PTI ally, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, has emphasized a January 31 deadline for concluding talks, with formal communication of this deadline to take place on January 2.
