Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday sharply criticized the Centre for agreeing to cancel grace marks awarded in NEET 2024, describing it as an admission of its own 'ineptitude.' He called for the restoration of state governments' roles in deciding MBBS selection methods.

In a post on X, Stalin stated, ''The Union Government's attempt to wriggle out of the recent #NEET scam by agreeing to the cancellation of grace marks is another admission of their own ineptitude. It should not divert attention from the core problems of irregularities and the unprofessional conduct of exams, especially after taking away the states' rights.''

Stalin condemned the government's incompetence and apathy towards the distress of students. The ruling DMK, along with the main opposition AIADMK and other parties except the BJP, opposes NEET and demands its abolition in Tamil Nadu.
