In an exclusive interview with PTI, Bhattacharya underscored the transformative impact AI is poised to have on various sectors, including healthcare, education, and public service delivery.
She emphasized that while AI holds immense promise for India, it also carries risks that warrant caution. 'AI is like any other tool; it can be used for good or bad purposes. Therefore, we need to be careful about how we use it,' she stated.
Bhattacharya, a trailblazer in the banking sector, believes that international cooperation is essential to address the cross-border implications of AI. 'Just like climate issues, AI requires global consensus and collaboration, as it will impact people globally and will not respect country borders,' she added.
