India's Manufacturing Sector Drives September Industrial Growth
India's industrial production increased by 3.1% in September, driven by manufacturing sector improvements. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) showed a 6.4% growth compared to the previous year. Despite a dip in August 2024 at -0.1%, September's growth in mining, manufacturing, and electricity was notable.

India's industrial production recorded a 3.1% increase this September, spurred by enhancements in the manufacturing sector, as per official data from Tuesday.
The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) highlighted a substantial 6.4% growth compared to September 2023. However, August 2024 saw a slight decline, registering at -0.1%.
Data from the National Statistics Office indicates a diverse sector growth: mining rose by 0.2%, manufacturing by 3.9%, and electricity by 0.5% in September 2024. The April-September fiscal period saw an overall IIP improvement of 4%, slightly lower than last year's 6.2% rise.
