The Delhi BJP has intensified its campaign against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, demanding a probe into alleged financial irregularities involving power distribution companies. On Tuesday, a memorandum was submitted to Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena by the Delhi BJP, questioning the financial dealings under the current administration.

Led by party chief Virendra Sachdeva, the delegation accused the AAP government and its leader Arvind Kejriwal of granting undue financial benefits to these companies, maintaining that undue nepotism has been a driving force behind the irregularities. The BJP claims this favoritism results in a financial burden on ordinary consumers and fails to justify the consistent losses posted by some companies.

In response, the AAP charged the BJP with pursuing an agenda aimed at transferring control of resources to industrialists close to their ranks. They defended their track record of providing free, uninterrupted electricity as unparalleled in India, dismissing the BJP's allegations as an attempt to seize control of power in the state at the cost of public welfare.
