Romania's defense ministry reported a worrying development as radar systems detected two separate signals likely from drones breaching the national airspace. Despite scrambling fighter jets, no visual contact was made before radar lost the signals, marking the third such occurrence within a week.

The incidents took place over the southeastern counties of Constanta and Tulcea, bordering Ukraine. Two F-16 fighter jets were deployed to monitor these unidentified flying objects, presumed to be drones. However, the planes were unable to visually confirm their presence before the signals disappeared, according to a ministry statement.

With Romania bordering Ukraine and experiencing Russian drone fragments on its soil, concerns of potential escalation have grown. Recent breaches in September involving both Romania and Latvia highlight the strategic sensitivity, as authorities consider the possibility of cyber interference in these incidents.
