On Wednesday, a state-owned bus transporting women to a 'Ladki Bahin' event in Maharashtra's Raigad district suffered a tragic accident, leaving at least 20 people injured.

The bus, operated by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation from the Bhiwandi depot, was carrying 29 women to a program related to the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana' in Mangaon. This initiative grants monthly financial support to eligible women.

The accident occurred in Mangaon tehsil as the vehicle lost control near Kumshet village, plunging 50 feet into a gorge. Emergency services responded quickly, transferring the injured to hospitals in Mangaon and Goregaon.
