Congress Challenges Haryana Election Results, Cites EVM Discrepancies

Following a crucial meeting with the Election Commission of India (ECI), Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda articulated the party's concerns regarding potential discrepancies observed in the Haryana Assembly election results. The Congress delegation brought to the EC's notice various complaints regarding alleged faults with electronic voting machines (EVMs) and sought assurance for a thorough investigation.
Bhupinder Singh Hooda highlighted the Congress party's disappointment over delayed vote counting at some locations. The Election Commission has committed to investigating all grievances raised by the party. Prominent Congress members, including KC Venugopal, Ashok Gehlot, and Jairam Ramesh, joined the delegation to express their reservations about the electoral process.
Addressing reporters, Hooda described the election outcome as unexpected, questioning the integrity of the EVMs, especially when the party was initially leading with postal ballots but fell behind upon EVM vote counting. Congress leader Pawan Khera further disclosed that 20 complaints were lodged, 7 in writing, calling for specific scrutiny and prompt action from the ECI.
