Bharat Vapsi: Pioneering the Return of Startups to India

Bengaluru, India – The Indian Venture & Alternate Capital Association (IVCA), the premier industry body for the alternate capital ecosystem in India, has unveiled Bharat Vapsi: Navigating Regulatory and Investment Landscapes. This initiative aims to explore the impacts of reverse flipping, highlighting how domestic capital and favorable reforms bolster the investment ecosystem. It also provides a platform for venture capital funds, family offices, general partners, and private equity professionals to connect. Supported by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Ernst & Young, and Goodwin, Bharat Vapsi is set to illuminate the startup landscape in India.

Rajat Tandon, President of IVCA, emphasized the significance of returning entrepreneurs for innovation and job creation. In 2023, over 8,000 startups returned to India, attracted by the country's dynamic market, supportive regulatory landscape, and access to domestic capital. Initiatives like Startup India have transformed India into a prime destination for startups, enhancing its innovation ecosystem and economic growth prospects.

The conference will feature notable speakers such as Smt. Dr. Ekroop Caur, IAS from the Government of Karnataka, and Anjali Bansal, Founding Partner of Avaana Climate and Sustainability, discussing how government policies have made India an attractive hub for startups. The event will also explore the strategy of unlocking pension and insurance funds for startup investments, aiming to build a self-reliant capital ecosystem. Key industry leaders will share their insights and experiences, further energizing India's evolution as a global economic powerhouse.
