The Indian contingent at the Paris Paralympics is showcasing commendable performances amidst fierce competition. In the mixed doubles badminton SH6 category semifinals, the Indian pair of Sivarajan Solaimalai and Nithya Sre succumbed to the US duo M Krajewski and J Simon, losing 21-17, 14-21, 13-21.

Indian para-athlete Praveen missed out on a podium finish in the men's javelin throw F57 final, achieving his best throw of 42.12 meters to secure eighth place. The podium spots were clinched by Uzbekistan's Y Odilov (50.32 m), Turkey's M Khalvandi (49.97 m), and Brazil's Lins Nobre CV (49.46 m).

India's achievements include a bronze by Rubina in the P2-Women's 10M Air Pistol SH-1 final with 211.1 points and a gold by Avani Lekhara in the women's 10m air rifle final with 249.7 points. Mona Agarwal also bagged bronze in the same event. Additionally, Manish Narwal earned silver in the men's P1 10 m air pistol SH1, and Preethi Pal secured bronze in the women's T35 100 m race with a personal best of 14.21 seconds.

With 84 athletes participating across 12 sports, India has sent its largest Paralympics contingent to date, reflecting the nation's growing para-sports ecosystem. Aiming to surpass the 19-medal haul from Tokyo 2020, which included five golds, eight silvers, and six bronzes, the expectations are high for the Indian athletes in Paris 2024.
