Cinema goers in the national capital will soon witness a public service announcement on the dangers of overspeeding, part of a new initiative by the Delhi government's Transport Department.
An official stated that the 30-second announcement follows the model of anti-tobacco campaigns and has been shared with district magistrates for screening in local cinemas. This effort is supported by data showing that 1,432 and 1,428 fatal accidents were reported in Delhi in 2023 and 2022, respectively.
The campaign aims to promote responsible driving and road safety awareness. Additionally, authorities are identifying accident-prone areas and cracking down on unregistered e-rickshaws in the city.
