Nine pedestrians were injured, with three in serious condition, after a drunk passenger seized control of a BEST bus steering wheel amidst an argument with the driver on Sunday evening, according to an official statement. The driver lost command of the vehicle, leading the bus to crash into pedestrians, cars, and two-wheelers in Mumbai's Lalbaugh area.

An official from Kalachowki police station disclosed that the electric vehicle on Route 66 was traveling from Ballard Pier to Rani Laxmibai Chow in Sion when the incident transpired. The intoxicated passenger engaged the driver in an argument near Ganesh Talkies in Lalbaugh, suddenly grabbing the wheel and causing the accident. Nine individuals sustained injuries, with three reported to be in critical condition.

All victims have been admitted to various hospitals across the city. Authorities have detained the intoxicated passenger for further investigation.
