Senior officials from India and Australia are slated to reconvene in November to further their Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) talks, as per the commerce ministry's statement on Sunday.
Following the interim trade agreement initiated in December 2022, the upcoming negotiations seek to broaden its scope. The recent tenth round of CECA negotiations held in Sydney covered multiple sectors such as goods, services, digital trade, government procurement, rules of origin, and agri-tech.
Both delegations, led by top negotiators Rajesh Agrawal from India and Ravi Kewalram from Australia, engaged in intensive dialogue to address points of contention and move toward a balanced resolution. Additionally, Australia proposed the inaugural meeting of the India-Australia Agri Tech Forum (IAATF) in New Delhi on September 23.
