Dabur, a leading consumer goods company, has announced a Rs 400 crore investment in Tamil Nadu, its first manufacturing venture in South India. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to establish a state-of-the-art plant at SIPCOT Food Park in Tindivanam, Villupuram district.

The announcement was made by Tamil Nadu's Industry Minister, TRB Rajaa, on social media platform 'X'. In his post, the minister welcomed Dabur, expressing excitement over the partnership in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin. The initial phase of investment will see Rs 135 crore, gradually scaling up to Rs 400 crore over five years, generating direct employment for 250 individuals and creating thousands of indirect job opportunities.

Minister Rajaa highlighted the positive impact on the local economy, with new opportunities for Delta region farmers to sell their agro-produce. He emphasized the importance of industrial linkages for the Delta region, praising Dabur's contribution. Dabur's CEO, Mohit Malhotra, acknowledged the Tamil Nadu government's support, stating the new facility will cater to the southern market's growing demand.
