The Indian Navy has mobilized a 19-member team to assist in the search for a trainer aircraft that went missing shortly after taking off from Jamshedpur's Sonari aerodrome. The mission commenced early Thursday as the team arrived in Ranchi around midnight.
As the search intensified, a body was discovered floating in the Chandil dam reservoir, where the aircraft is suspected to have crashed. 'The identity of the body is still being determined, although initial suspicions suggest it could be one of the two individuals aboard the aircraft,' an official noted.
The search effort includes a six-member NDRF team that scoured the reservoir extensively on Wednesday. The missing aircraft, identified as a Cessna 152 belonging to Alchemist Aviation, had Captain Jeetu Sutaru and trainee pilot Subrodeep onboard. Authorities are broadening the search to include nearby areas, with input from villagers reporting the crash location.
