Amardeep Singh Bhatia Assumes Key Role in Industrial Promotion at DPIIT

Amardeep Singh Bhatia has taken over as Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He succeeds Rajesh Kumar Singh, now Officer on Special Duty at the Department of Defence.

Amardeep Singh Bhatia has stepped into the role of Secretary at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Bhatia replaces Rajesh Kumar Singh, who has moved on to serve as Officer on Special Duty at the Department of Defence.

A 1993 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Nagaland cadre, Bhatia previously held the position of Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce. Over the years, he has held numerous significant roles within the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in the central government.

During his tenure with the state government, Bhatia managed diverse departments including Planning and Coordination, Health and Family Welfare, Environment and Forest, Municipalities and Local Self-Government, and Home. The DPIIT is a key department within the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, tasked with formulating and implementing policies aimed at bolstering the industrial sector.
