The establishment of the 'Sadak Surakhya Force' in Punjab has led to a remarkable 45 percent reduction in road accident fatalities compared to the previous year, the state government announced on Tuesday. Health Minister Balbir Singh revealed the data while addressing a workshop focused on emergency care and state road safety schemes.
Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar also spoke at the event, underlining the AAP-led Punjab government's dedication to lowering the road accident mortality rate and providing crucial medical treatment during the golden hours to save lives. The 'Farishtey Scheme' and a new fleet of ambulances are notable initiatives supporting this goal.
The ministers implored district officials to treat the reduction of road accident deaths as a mission and engage NGOs to boost public awareness. They also called for all government vehicles to be equipped with first-aid kits and emphasized the importance of periodic training for the 'Sadak Surakhya Force'.
