Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav on Monday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of widespread corruption, following the arrest of AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Yadav said Khan, who serves as the chairman of the Delhi Waqf Board, is the 19th AAP MLA to come under scrutiny for corruption-related charges.
The Congress and AAP had formed an alliance for the recent Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, but were unsuccessful against the BJP, which secured all seven seats. Yadav asserts that the Delhi Congress had raised concerns about Khan's activities nearly three years ago, prompting the current investigation that led to Khan's arrest. The ED arrested Khan from his residence in Okhla under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) following a search of his premises.
