India and Malaysia to Intensify Trade Cooperation, Explore New Opportunities

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, underscored the necessity of enhancing trade cooperation between India and Malaysia during the 'Meeting of India-Malaysia CEOs Forum' in New Delhi. Addressing the gathering on Monday, Goyal highlighted several key areas for potential collaboration to deepen trade and business ties between the two nations.
Minister Goyal pointed to multiple sectors ripe for cooperation, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, tourism, the digital economy, e-commerce, and sustainable energy. He urged joint efforts in these fields to cement the partnership further, reflecting the forum's mission of fostering business growth and strategic discussions among leaders from both countries.
'India and Malaysia must explore deeper collaboration in several sectors to strengthen our partnership. Growing together is our mantra,' Goyal stated, emphasizing the need for synergy in trade, tourism, technology, and investments. He also encouraged Malaysian businesses to explore India's expanding oil and gas sectors, and called for enhanced collaboration, particularly between MSMEs in sectors like renewable energy and fintech.
Goyal highlighted India's advancements in the electronics industry and suggested Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) to support industry engagement. He asserted that India's vast consumer base offers significant opportunities for Malaysian businesses.
'I'm sure this huge demand that India offers businesses across the world is an opportunity that no Malaysian businessman would like to lose,' he stated, affirming the forum's role in reinforcing the trade ties between India and Malaysia.
