The Lok Sabha has passed the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak Bill 2024, replacing the 90-year-old Aircraft Act to enhance ease of business in the civil aviation sector. The bill aims to create an efficient grievance mechanism, control airfares, and promote aircraft manufacturing in line with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
The Lok Sabha on Friday approved the Bhartiya Vayuyan Vidheyak Bill 2024, which replaces the nearly century-old Aircraft Act to streamline business operations in India's booming civil aviation sector.
Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu announced plans to implement an efficient online grievance mechanism for addressing issues such as increasing airfares swiftly.
This legislation not only aims to establish a balanced framework for airlines and passengers but also supports the Aatmanirbhar Bharat drive by encouraging the domestic manufacturing of aircraft and helicopters. The bill was passed by a voice vote.
