Havmor Ice Cream, a subsidiary of South Korean conglomerate Lotte Wellfood, announced on Thursday the launch of its Rs 400-crore factory in Pune by November this year. The state-of-the-art facility at MIDC Talegaon, Pune, Maharahstra, is set to increase the company's production capacity by an impressive 4 lakh litres per day and will also manufacture a groundbreaking range of candies.

During a media briefing at Havmor's Naroda-based production facility, Managing Director Komal Anand outlined the company's growth strategy on the occasion of its 80th anniversary. Presently, the company operates production plants in Ahmedabad and Faridabad, each with a daily capacity of 1.5 lakh litres.

Anand also revealed that the Pune factory will be Lotte's largest ice cream plant globally, set to cater to market demand for the next six years. Future expansion plans include the introduction of 5 lakh litres per day capacity and new candy products, expected to debut in 2025. Since Lotte's acquisition of Havmor in 2017, the company's turnover has doubled to nearly Rs 1,200 crore, while profits have increased by 50%.
